Protocol.

Astrodex is built on the foundation of transparency and data sovereignty. We believe your technical knowledge belongs to you, and your privacy is non-negotiable.

1. Zero Data Collection

By default, the core Astrodex engine does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. As a static site generator, all processing happens during build-time or locally within your browser. We do not use tracking cookies, finger-printing, or hidden analytics.

2. Data Ownership

All documentation content, metadata, and configuration files reside within your own repository. Astrodex has no "cloud" component that stores your data. You have complete control over where your documentation is hosted and who has access to it.

3. Local Persistence

To improve your user experience, we use localStorage to remember UI preferences, such as:

  • Sidebar collapsible group states (open/closed).
  • Theme preferences (if applicable).

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible by us or any third party.

4. Third-Party Services

Astrodex is designed to be self-contained. However, depending on your configuration, you may choose to integrate third-party services:

  • GitHub: Used for fetching contributor avatars and hosting the repository.
  • Hosting Providers: If you deploy to Vercel, Netlify, or similar platforms, they may collect standard web server logs (IP addresses, user agents) as part of their infrastructure.

5. Open Source Audit

Our codebase is 100% open-source. We encourage security researchers and users to audit our source code on GitHub to verify our privacy claims.
